In the middle of one the worst economic crises since the the 1930’s in addition to a severe shake-up in the news business (and especially in the newspaper industry if you listen to economic experts such as Warren Buffet),
many entertainment names and other powerful or high profile folks are to a certain extent beginning to basically drop the flashy bling and assorted designer fashions which are most often identified by the general public with the elite.
Even among the mainstream news personalities, there is some level of caution concerning appearances, says Steve Scully, C-SPAN’s morning anchor.
It appears that nerves are somewhat frayed following the incident where first lady Michelle Obama was given a mild critique by the mainstream media in general for attending a charity event in upscale footware available only at select stores like Barney’s for over five hundred dollars.
While many performers in the entertainment industry are starting to scale back on the diamond stud earrings, diamond hoops and related forms of bling bling jewelry, many hip hop performers have not corresponded their wardrobe to this trend.
Many of them are still flashing around their royalty watches’s, aqua master watch plus various other pieces of hip hop jewelry. If the economy continues to go south, however, it is not very likely that the trend of bling bling jewelry will last forever.
