Susan Atkins, a Charles Manson groupie/cult member/disciple who was convicted of the murder of Sharon Tate and her unborn child, along with seven other murders during the summer of 1969, was denied parole for time number twelve in twelve attempts. She apparently has reportedly brain cancer. She is also sixt years of age.

There was some testimony from 18 out of 23 witnesses who said she should be released, while the Los Angeles County District Attorneys Office prosecutor Patrick Sequeria said that justice has been served here. He stated that her release would disrespect family members of the victims and would also be offensive to the
California criminal justice system. More legal/celebrity related news from out of the Golden State: Famous community fund raiser Julie Lee was found guilty on fully 5 of the 7 charges that were brought against her. The 7 charges against her come from a $500,000 grant for the
Sunset District Community Center.

The charges against Lee were four charges of mail fraud and three charges of witness tampering and two of the mail fraud charges she was acquitted, while a jury in the Sacramento U.S District Court convicted her of two mail fraud charges and the three witness tampering charges.

The charges against Lee has alleged she that in 2002 Lee had plotted to funnel funds from the state grant money into the California Secretary of State Kevin Shelly and the Sunset District Community Center was not developed. This all first came to light in a newspaper story several years ago in the Chronicle which focused on the improper ethics of Lees fund raising. This story certainly raised some eyebrows. This also helped to end the former California Secretary of State Kevin Shelly’s career in politics. Shelly resigned after the Chronicle reported that out of the $500,000 state grant money approximately $168,750 dollars of it was found in Shelly’s campaign account. Shelly has been cleared of any wrongdoing in connection with the charges filed against Lee.

September 3rd is the date set for Lee’s sentencing and the 61 year old faces up to 70 years in prison along with fines that can go as high as $1.2 million dollars. by the way if you happen to live in California and you require an excellent California Medical Malpractice Lawyer then might I recommend the super law offices of Scott Righthand. He is simply one of the best medical malpractice lawyer out there. He is based in San Francisco but also serves the surrounding area as well such as Oakland and San Jose.

Hicks claims that Judge does not Have His Best Interest In Mind

Brian Kenneth Hicks, the criminal celebrity who is accused of trafficking drugs and leading the famous (or perhaps infamous might be the better word) gang known as the Elite Eights told U.S. District Judge Wiley Y. Daniel he wanted a brand new attorneys. All in all, he went on to tell the judge that his current attorneys were wasting precious time on motions and wanted to enter in a plea bargain type of agreement. .

Hicks charged with trafficking thousands of kilos of crack cocaine convinced the judge and when the judge asked the present attorneys, they stated due to representing the client they could not comment.

Recently the grand jury handed down indictments that charged that the high profile criminal was the leader of the members of drug traffickers as well as conspiring to distribute crack cocaine.

Attorneys Jonathan Willet and Walter Gerash are the attorneys who are representing him at this time that he asked to have them fired from the job in question. So he will be able to replace them with attorneys who will follow his wishes, as he believes that the prosecution has little evidence in his case according to his statement to the judge.

Hicks made no mention of any criminal attorneys that he might replace his current defense attorneys with and only alluded to the fact that his family was going to retain an attorney. Speaking of attorneys,

if you happen to live in the Miami, Florida locale and when you are charged with a criminal offense it takes the expertise of Miami criminal attorney to ensure the case is prepared to your advantage because it can mean your very freedom. David Garvin is simply one of the best miami criminal attorney out there. In fact a good Miami criminal attorney may prepare your case and represent you if you are arrested

Two other men associated with Hicks are also mentioned in the indictments and are facing charges. They are also believed to have been in his Chevy Tahoe, when a drive by shooting occurred that involved Denver Broncos team member Darrent Williams. Hicks has taken on a high profile in the notorious cocaine underword, much like the fictional Miami based cocanine kingpin Tony Montana in the crime saga ‘Scarface’ starring Al Pacino.
