Numerology and the Stars

I was looking for some good art for offices the other day on my way to the dentist in Bergen County and I got to thinking how many celebrities change their name so as to change the numbers and thus numerology of it, for the purpose of obtaining a more creative or generally favorable vibration. That reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend recently: “alright I promised you some more details about the number 17. In the ancient texts, the number 17 is called “The Star of the Magi” and it is pictured as the 8-pointed star of Venus. This is symbolism of course but I found that fact interesting because you wear your ring on the finger which is represented by the Roman Goddess Venus. 17 was considered by the ancients to be a highly spiritual number as well as the image of Love and Peace. The number 17 indicates that the person or entity represented by it will rise above the trials and difficulties of earlier life. In addition, it indicates that the persons name may live on after they die. The 17 is considered to be a generally favorable and fortunate vibration but with one possible negative, and that is that these people sometimes do not get the credit and recognition they deserve despite being hard working and self-sacrificing (this may explain the art that you are sometimes inclined to choose. It kind of reminds me of some of the art in the office of my Bergen County dentist
but then again I suppose that most successful dentists, whether in Emerson, Oradell, Hillsdale or anywhere else in Northern New Jersey, have a nice dentist office in that way. Although they often rise to positions of authority, ironically it is sometimes a great burden of stress, anxiety, responsibility and too many hours of work. This
is not a definate, because the numbers influence but do not compel, and we have the free will to always choose the positive side of every vibration. (every number has both a positive and negative potentiality, it is our choices which decide which potentiality manifests). On the whole, 17 imparts the ability to rise above adversity in both the career and in personal relationships.

Catching up on the OJ Conviction

I recently returned from the great state of Teax, specifically Houston and am sort of catching up on a few current current headlines. Strangely, the continuing saga of Mr. Simpson was really what you would call a major story in Houston in contrast to various states that I have spent time in lately. I am certain that there is much more interest in Los Angeles, however after his wrongful death civil trial with the Goldman family.. As you probably are aware by now,  former Bill player O.J. Simpson was sentenced to 9-33 years in jail for his role in the armed robbery which went awry in a Nevada hotel room. It was a fairly touph sentence (however that is not especially odd for this judge, who has a rather touph reputation in general) for what was almost funny, had it not involved firearms which could have caused serious injury. he may not have as good lawyers as the first case, when he had the dream team which was made up of some of the nation’s best lawyers like Robert Shapiro, etc. I think his wrongful death civil trial cleaned him out, however.
All in all, Simpson, who is sixty-one years old, may spend the rest of his life behind bars unless he can win his appeal or manage to win an early parole. It appears nine years is the minimum sentence, however, and Nevada may prove a toupher place to be paroled early than California would have been. He has repeatedly stated that he was simply attempting to recover sports memorabilia stolen from him.
Although no one actually suffered personal injury, 2 of the robbers happened to pull out firearms during the botched robbery.
The judge has stated more than once that the sentence had nothing to do with Simpson’s previous acquittal for double murder in Brentwood, California. It is almost a Page 2 story in the newspaper by comparison. I think a big part of that is the calibre of his Lawyer team.
In the first trial he had the help of the “dream team” and this time he could not afford a Lawyer of the status of Shapiro or the law Firm of John Cochran.
On the subject of Law, by the way, if you live in Pennsylvania and require a dedicated Houston wrongful death lawyers then you may wish to consider the Law o Firm of mark Rosenberg, one of the best in Pennsylvania overall.
According to articles and reports from several respected  News agencies,  Department of Corrections spokeswoman stated that O.J. arrived at High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs.
This is a medium security facility and is around 45 miles or so northwest of Las Vegas. It has some three thousand beds and serves as the intake center for new southern Nevada prison inmates, according to an Associated Press report online. Simpson reportedly gave out candy bars to his fellow inmates.

Yes, this new Powermonkey Explorer is made to go anywhere including the great outdoors with a solar power accessory to recharge iPods anyplace there is sunlight. Along with the solar panel there is also electrical connections for both the United States and European electricity for charging iPods when connected with a USB cable.

This also means that the iPod owners will never be without their play list when enjoying the outdoors.

With the holidays at an end, there are many new iPod owners just beginning to figure out the functions of their iPods. For many of these new generation iPod owners there is a feeling of confusion because of the many new features. There are places that can be contacted for help in figuring out the functions of the new iPods, Apple of course has tech support, however there are also other companies that offer expert advice and are trained to help with iPod problems and questions from the most simple to the most technical.

One of these tech support companies for iPod are SupportSpace, where they are ready to give support on the latest generation of iPods from the most simple procedure to the most complicated.

While many iPod users will not need to resort to an expert the fact that they are there when questions or problems arise is a comforting thought with all the functions the new generation of iPods are capable of performing.

When the results are in for the amount of sales for the holiday season are in for the new generation of iPods it is expected to be a dramatic increase from sales at other times of the year.

News about the iPod

Filed under: Entertainment News, General Headlines — stresawtoat10 @ 12:44 am

In a report echoed by Wirder magazine and other technology/gadget publications that the Sony BMG Corporation is moving to DRM-free downloads seems to represent the music industry’s surrender in regards to their copyright-protection attempt
created a super ecoomerce site in Apple’s iTunes Store while at the same time not successfully stopping the piracy issues at hand.
While some experts seem to believe that the Apple corporation may in fact likely lose market share for digital downloads as the giants leave the DRM scene, the subsequent uptick in internet music sales sites will probably produce a much
bigger market for the iPod as well as the fast-rising phenomenon known as the iPhone.
As a result of all these events, The iTunes market share will eventually be sharply reduced, according to one Phil Leigh, an expert with Digital Media. Obviously, all of this is very good for the iPod.
This big move away from digital rights management for its downloads was initially reported today by BusinessWeek. As it stands now, the firm follows the other Big 4 labels which have defected from DRM since the start of 2007 as the industry searches for a good
digital strategy. Warner Music group, for example, became the 3rd of these giants to move toward DRM-free downloads, stating that sections of the catalog would be open Amazon consumers. The
Apple corporation, which staunchly refuses to license the DRM technology called FairPlay, has some eighty percent market share of digital downloads. meanwhile,
Peter Rojas, who is the co-founder of Rcrd Lbl, which gives away DRM-free, advertisement-supported music downloads, stated firmly that “consumers simply do not want DRM”.
But he also stated that the iPod may start to lose its ascendency to the likes of Microsoft’s Zune, which is completely incompatible with Apple’s FairPlay. On the other hand
the RIAA, which has sued more than twenty thousand different persons to date, has not yet made a statement concerning the latest abandonment of DRM. Ray Beckerman, a New York lawyer who defends those
sued for unlawful downloading, thinks that the industry in question would probably move ahead ahead with their lawsuits. As a whole,
the end of DRM may in fact embolden a variety of internet-based download sites and other such sites as traditional album sales continue to plummet.
According to the wited News network, Album sales as a while fell nearly ten percent this last year while at the same time the sale of digital tracks rose by nearly fifty percent!
Yes, things they are a’changin’. Sony spokesman John McKay declined comment as of today, by the way

An IPOD for Christmas?

Filed under: Entertainment News, General Headlines, Home/Family/Health News, National News — stresawtoat10 @ 5:39 am

Trying to decide what to get someone for Christmas? Can’t decide between a Blacberry or an Iphone?
If your budget is under $150, you have soome good choices, according to new York Post writer/journalist Maxine Shen.
How about an iPod Nano? the diminutive, steel-colored Nano holds some one thousand tunes, plus it even plays video.
These features really make it a more attractive gift thn the Shuffle, which is only about eight bucks yet only has the capacity for 240 tunes.
So whether the recipient wants to listen to U2, the Rolling Stones or 50-Cent they are good to go.
Another cool gift could be the one hundred and twenty dollar Philips 7-in. Susan G. Komen Portable DVD player. This is a nifty idea
for a broad range of people. In addition, Philips has donated a lot of money to breast cancer research thru the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.
For about eight bucks you can get a G-Tech Smart-Fabric Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard. This gift could also appeal to a very wide range of folks since
just about everybody uses a computer these days. This full, laptop-sized, QWERTY keyboard rolls up so that it is pocket-size and works with the majority of Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Another cool gadget gift idea is the Mimobot Designer USB flash drive. With these you can easily jazz up your data with awesome Mac and Windows-compatible limited-edition drives,
which happen to hold one to four gigabytes worth of files, designed by artists such as Mori Chack (of Gloomy Bear fame) and Sket One. In addition to this, there is a radical “Halo”-themed version plus
a “Star Wars” collection. pretty nifty stuff to be sure.

Romanian Filmmaker is European Film Prize winner

Filed under: Entertainment News, General Headlines, Movie News, World News — stresawtoat10 @ 7:32 pm

According to the ‘Courrier International’,
while the Romanian film “Four Months, three Weeks and two Days” by director Cristian Mungiu won the best film award at the European Film Awards presentation in Berlin, Germany, it is a far cry from being presented an oscar….
The director was overjoyed, also noting the validation of also winning the award at the Cannes film festival on the French Riviera. He was quoted as wondering if tinseltown will follow suit
and also honor his film about abortion. He noted that his melodrama may not necessarily be the winner at the Oscars next spring for several reasons including the fact that “The European Film Academy is younger; the American Film Academy has many more members and they are older….”.
He also pointed out the fact that they very rarely give high profile awards for films of a revolutionary nature. Among the other winners at the
European Film Academy awards besides Cristian Mungiu were Fatih Akin and Frenchman Jean-Luc Godard. Meanwhile,
long time theater and film actor Sasson Gabai of israel was voted Actor of the Year at the awards.
He won the prize for the lead role in Eran Kolirin’s The Band’s Visit. Kolirin also walked away with the award after he was named “Discovery of the Year”.
In addition, previous Oscar winner Helen Mirren won yet another award for her performance as Elizabeth II in the Stephen Frears’ motion picture “The Queen,” taking the best actress crown at the Awards ceremony.
In lesser awards, The People’s Choice Award went to Giuseppe Tornatore’s “La Sconosciuta” (The Unknown) from Italy. German-Turkish director Fatih Akin collected the best screenplay prize for “The Edge of Heaven.”
although still very important for it’s ability to heighten the profile of a rising or upstart filmmaker,
the European Film Awards are still generally regarded as being somewhat overshadowed by the Oscar and the major film festivals and national film award ceremonies.
It simply does not yet have the prestige of Venice, Cannes, Toronto and Hollywood. Next year the ceremony will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, according to the Reuters news network.
In other movie award news, Sean Penn’s feature film “Into the Wild,” won for best feature at the Gotham Awards in New York, which is one of the top independent film awards in the united States.
Some other films which walked away with prizes included the Michael Moore’s “Sicko” (top documentary) about the American health care system. “Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead,” starring Ethan Hawke and Philip Seymour Hoffman, and “Talk to Me,” starring Don Cheadle, tied for best ensemble cast.
